Bella may be one of the most camera friendly babies I’ve met in a long time. I had the honor of photographing her for her newborn session a year ago. I always feel so great, when parents call me back up a year later to document the big O-N-E. This is one of the most amazing parts of this small business. I get to be a part of the most memorable milestones for so many families.
So this time last year, Bella came into my small studio space ready to a tiny peanut. We donned her in pink everything! I mean look at this gorgeous ensemble!
We were able to get a great variety of shots and even were able to piece together a special hockey pic for dad. Cue in all happy hockey dads!
This time Bella came in to celebrate her sweet O-N-E cake smash. AHH this theme was EVERYTHING. We wanted the feeling of fun sweets and treats, but we didn’t want the theme to overwhelm baby Bella.
Mom and dad sent me a few inspirational images and I got to work. I really wanted a small cake/candy cart. There are plenty of toy ones out there but they didn’t quite fit the aesthetic I was aiming for. I have an amazing friend who is a complete boss at online shopping and she found me the perfect candy cart prop on Oriental Trading.

Next, I went on a hunt for faux sweets. Amazon to the rescue on this. I was able to secure a nice variety of vibrant faux cupcakes and placed them on an acrylic stand to emphasize their color.
We topped off the backdrop with a balloon garland and
VOILA…
Magic…
Bella, in true Bella form, was all smiles and full of cheer.
